Considering Attempting Your Own Iphone Screen Repair?

There are many cheap replacement parts available on the web allowing you to conduct your own iPhone screen repair. We will tell you why you should send it to us instead of attempting the repair yourself...

Firstly and possibly most importantly eBay (and other similar sites) sellers will sell just about anything to make a quick buck. One thing that amazes us is that sellers will continue to sell 'iphone screen repair' kits even if they know that they will not work. For example, you have the new iPhone 4 right? You drop it and crack the outer touch screen or digigitizer. The first thing you do is go on the web and search for 'iphone screen repair' or something similar. You will find thousands of screens available! So you buy a new touch screen / digitizer from eBay and wait for it to arrive.

Perhaps your next step in your iphone screen repair is to look on youtube and see how it is done, there are plenty of guides out there so why not? Now what the eBay seller is not telling you at this point is that it is impossible to replace the outer touch screen on the iphone 4 without replacing the LCD screen too. So now you have to go back and buy a new LCD screen. 'Why?' is this you ask... well the two screens are fused together in such a way that removal of one without the other is impossible.

The iphone 3G and 3GS screens were screwed together so this kind of iphone screen repair would have been fine on one of those models but remember you have the iphone 4. Repair of your iphone screen is not looking so good now is it? The cheap screen is no good on its own and you have spent twice as much as originally thought. You probably wont want to go through the process of putting your phone back together again while you wait for the new screen to arrive so you are out of a phone for afew days, bad times!

Example 2, you have an iPhone 3GS which has a broken touch screen. Again you order the part from the web and await its arrival. After researching the process you begin to strip down your iphone in preperation for the iphone screen repair. You spend hours removing every small piece of glass from your mid frame and carefully apply the cheap imitiation adhesive pads that wont last more than a month and don't fit correctly. Finally you place your new touch screen on the mid frame to find 'um, it doesn't fit'... yep that's right, most of them don't fit properly and limit the use of the home button which just so happens is the only button on the iPhone, more bad times!

You now chase up the seller and question the problem, you wait for a refund, if you are lucky, and start the process again. All the while iphone-less!

This is why we end up with so many customers sending us their iphone's in pieces quoting 'please just sort this out for me'. There are many more examples of poor quality parts and mis-leading sales information that we could inform you about but hopefully this is enough to make you think twice before conducting a DIY iphone screen repair using cheap imitation parts.
