Swaim missed the final seven games last season because of a torn pectoral tendon that required surgery. That injury has healed fine and he can continue to build up strength as he recovers from the foot operation.
Last season Swaim handled the No. 2 tight end duties behind Jason Witten with James Hanna missing the year with a knee injury. He caught six passes for 69 yards but was an effective blocker in the Cowboys' two-tight end sets.
Hanna is continuing to recover from his knee surgery in the middle of last season but should be ready for training camp if not sooner.
