About This Game

3rd century BCE. The Warring States period continues in China. After the Zhou empire entered a state of decline, many small states had defected from it. Their number was gradually reduced - many realms were absorbed by their lucky neighbours, and now the Celestial Empire is divided between seven hegemons. This is the era of endless struggle and strife, but at the same time, many aspects of life are developing vigorously: military technology, trade, crafts, philosophy... The Chinese civilization begins to expand carefully, discovering a huge world around itself.



Who can unite the Chinese lands with the firm hand? Will it be a Chinese leader, or will some external force interfere in consolidation of the territory?
In this historical grand strategy, you can choose any of playable ancient countries of East Asia and lead it to the total hegemony. Your goal is to conquer fertile plains, boundless steppes, impassable mountains and create an empire that the world hasn’t ever seen!

This still needs a lot of polish. Much of the English is very poor.

But there's a deal breaker in here for me, maybe not for everyone, but definitely for me.

The thing about grand strategy games is that there's a lot of waiting. This game forces a pause if you task-switch out of the game, meaning it's forcing you to stare at the screen and wait while nothing happens for 5-10 minutes.

I play a lot of grand strategies and this is just not acceptable for me, sorry.. This game has a ton of potential (mainly because I love the setting). That being said the AI currently just sits and waits for me to go kill them. I think this game would be better as a turn-based game rather than a real time game. Much easier to manage the game that way and could possibly get some active AI. Also, I beat the game in roughly 90 minutes, which is stupid fast for an empire management game.
Here is a list of what I suggest should be in the game:
1. AI that will play the game.
2. A diplomacy system. (not asking for a ton, maybe just be able to say at war or not at war)
3. Turn-based rather than real time. (That's a tall order at this point, but with how the game plays it would be better)
4. A trade system for the trade goods.
5. Player starts with an income. (you seriously start with no income or army and wait like 5 months to start moving)

Please at least consider these suggestions, I think it would make the game stupid fun.. I am recommending this game because I want it's sum rating to reflect postively. I would say that you should not buy it now! I understand that developers sometimes want or need to release games early but this company has an unfortunate tendency to release them in fledgling states that really can't be excused. It has only been recently released so I don't know if they will eventually update it enough to become a game... But! I hope they do! The idea seems great! Good music, interesting time with information about it included, the map isn't amazing but it is nice to look at. Yes it seems derivitive of a Paradox GS title but is that a bad thing? it is a good mechanic and I have always found it astounding that so few games take place in China, especially strategy games! I think a strategy game centered on China with mechanics and gameplay that accurate creates the complex and enthralling ancient and imperal Chinese systems and gives one freedom to play in it would be amazning!. I think this is a great idea and I am sure the developers have the abaility to make the game they want.

But... It is a gamble to buy something not yet there. I will say the price is reasonable and there are no bugs (then again there is probably so little code bugs couldn't hide) so if you believe in the team and have the patience to wait then get this game while the price is low! My hope is that soon the team will update the game with new features both borrowed from genre defining games and made up just for this and Dawn of China will be loved all over Steam. Only time will tell.

I wish the developers the best of luck and urge them to stick with it!. This is a rather simple game. Build your resources up, add some buildings (suggest starting with either the governor\u2019s building or the tax collector), recruit some soldiers (make sure you have the income to do so), and start taking over the map. At a certain point, you should have more money coming in than you can spend, and you can just steamroll the map. Do note: you only have the one army.

Still, it is relatively easy. As for getting all the achievements\u2026 make sure to read their requirements\u2026 (And even then\u2026 the Korean one either misidentified one of the targets, or simply forgot that you need to take out the Han, too.)

• Improved mechanics of the army movements;
• Improved attack formula;
• Optimized combat mechanics;
• Now you can hire troops and send your army off without constructing buildings first;
• Fixed a bug with incorrect display of unit characteristics while hiring it;
• Fixed a bug with the display of troops in the garrison;
• Fixed an exploit where you could double-click to transfer to the army those troops that aren't located in the same province;
• Fixed bug when the game gets stuck paused;
