We got married within our hometown, Urk within the Netherlands at "De Koningshof". We met at church even though going out on the weekends. He proposed in my experience in Spain, in the 25th wedding jubilee of my parents. We were there using the whole family to celebrate so that they were all witnesses.

The last night, we had dinner in the backyard. Suddenly, Lubbert jumped into the pool together with his clothes on (he's very funny and loves to joke around) He shouted: "Dianne if you wish to marry me, jump into the pool!" I was all decked out and had just placed on my new white pants. So, I hesitated a bit but then ran right to the pool and jumped in. Then he got the ring and inquired about marrying him within the pool, while my whole family stood around with candles everywhere around the pool. I will always cherish that moment.

I didn't genuinely have a wedding theme in my mind. I liked baby blue and pink, so handsome baby blue, and pink flowers during my bouquet. Also, guests could wear baby blue outfits when they liked. I found all of the planning very stressful because I'm a perfectionist! As for that venue and vibe, I just wanted something classy and chilled. First, we married in church and then we had the party in a beautiful classy location within the Koningshof.

As for that dress, within the beginning, I wanted a bodycon dress with pearls, little stones, and glamour everywhere. However, during fittings, I found that kind of gown didn't suit me perfectly, I didn't possess the "spark". So I visited 3 wedding boutiques and I think I tried on around 20 dresses before locating the one at www.feeltimes.co.uk. I picked my dress due to the simple and elegant look of it. I instantly loved it! I definitely would recommend the shop. We were helped perfectly, and they have a lot of choices.

Thanks to my 2 brothers who helped plan my wedding everything ran very smoothly. I had lots of help from friends and family for that decorations. My favorite little bit of the wedding I think was as soon as we first saw one another. It was this type of special moment, for the first time I saw Lubbert all suited up and that he was a bit emotional when he saw me.

The weather was luckily much better than expected. We had planned a BBQ around 6 o'clock outside, but based on the weather forecast, it might be rainy, cold, and cloudy. However, it had been 22 degrees and incredibly sunny. Just perfect!

My top advice for future brides is always to plan way ahead and for all of the control freaks amongst us: ignore it! In the end, it will likely be an amazing day and everyone wants to help, so dare to ask for that help from your family and friends.
