A digital counter is a digital circuit that can deposit binary numbers in the form of bits and converts this stored number to the closest lower or higher value orderly (ascending or descending) depending on the configuration of the circuit. Digital counters are usually made out flip-flops related in chain in which the output of the previous in the input of the current.
