I found three levels of quality for sound, and lowering the CPU would improve the quality (though sometimes would take a few reloads of the game):

But some time we need edit setup manually to increase performance.
- cycles = 3000 - add "sblast" parameter to prince.exe (whatever if you use frontend, .bat, . ) - prince.exe sblast.

|Sound effects work, no music| High quality sound effects, you hear the prince scream, gates shut with a foreboding clang. When you start the game, you'll hear the gate clang but then silence - the music isn't working. Lower your cpu cycles and try again, because next up is the promised land.
