It seems that Netflix could offer a games bundle in early 2022 to its subscribers.

Netflix, a video streaming platform, wants to introduce its games bundle to attract gamers. This strategy of Netflix could be helpful to pull the interests of gamers towards it. However, in regards to the news, the company has not announced anything officially yet

Netflix has dipped its feet in the gaming field. Perhaps on the occasion of “choose your own adventure” style movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch as the most significant example. But the video streaming giant may be broadening further into gaming by introducing a new games bundle for Netflix users. Several reports working as evidence to confirm this news over the past few days.

The Information recently published the first report. The report includes that Netflix intends to employ an executive to monitor new gaming efforts. The company is perceiving games bundle just like Apple Arcade. Later, Reuters validated that a gaming executive is a planned hire at Netflix. The Information stated, “Netflix has also opted not to involve ads in the games.” But it also stated, “Netflix’s programs are still “very much in flux.”

In a published report, though, Axios included more information from its own reporting. An Axios spokesperson said to think about the forthcoming service, which would be provided to Netflix users. A smaller “Apple Arcade” bundle that would comprise both authenticated Netflix IP and games commissioned from indie studios. The service might be possibly launching in early 2022.

While Netflix never officially confirmed the prospective expansion of its gaming efforts. A statement published by both Polygon and The Information, Netflix indicated that it is preparing to do more with gaming:

Netflix says, “Our users value the diversity and quality of our content. This is why we’ve frequently expanded our providing”. From series to films, documentaries, local language originals, and reality shows. Subscribers also like relating more effectively to stories they love. Interactive shows like You v. Wild and Bandersnatch, or games themed on La Casa de Papel, Stranger Things. So, we’re thrilled to experiment with interactive entertainment. We have planned so much to work in the gaming field.

Netflix has a variety of titles based on famous video games that are out now or in the jobs. Games like Resident Evil, Castlevania, and The Witcher show the importance of video games as IP. It’s not exotic to think that Netflix would willing to advertise its series via new games. Or, in the ouroboros, introduce a new game that eventually becomes a prospective Netflix show.

The company seemed to plan it in early 2019. It had partnered with Telltale Games on a Stranger Things game that died before its announcement. A source said that “Netflix was just getting into the place and didn’t possess a games group in space yet.” Though, Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode did survive, and is currently partially available on Netflix now.

So many companies are attempting to develop a service for “Netflix games.” Xbox Game Pass and Apple Arcade are the two that strike to mind. But according to reports and continuous denial from Netflix making it unclear. However, Netflix has given hints in some published reports that it is thinking about it. Hopefully, in early 2022, we will see Netflix for video games too. It would be exciting to see Netflix as a video gaming platform along with a streaming platform.
