As detailed below, the lawsuit focuses on whether the Company and its top executives breached federal securities laws making misleading or false statements or failing to disclose that Cassava: (1) deceived the investing public regarding Cassava's prospects and business; Faruqi and Faruqi (2) artificially inflated the value of Cassava common stock; (3) permitted Cassava to make money through the sale of $200 million of Cassava common stock at fraudulently high prices; and (4) caused Plaintiff and the other Class members Class to buy Cassava Common Stock at artificially inflated prices.

On the 25th of August, 2021, before the market was opened, Cassava issued a response to the petition, saying that the allegations regarding scientific integrity are false and misleading. ("Quanterix") which is an independent business and a source of evidence that suggested that the reanalysis is valid.

In light of this the share price of the company decreased $36.97, or 32% closing at $80.86 per share , on August 25, 2021, on unusually heavy trading volume.

On August 27 2021, prior to the market opened, Quanterix issued a statement in which it denied the claims of the Company and stating that it "did not interpret the Faruqi and Faruqi New York Lawyers test results or prepare the data" claimed by Cassava.

On the same date, Cassava responded to Quanterix's statement, stating the following "Quanterix'[s] sole responsibility with regard to this clinical study was to perform sample testing, specifically, to measure levels of p-tau in plasma samples collected from study subjects."

With this announcement the price of shares for the company dropped $12.51 which is 17.6 percent, to trade on $58.34 per share the 27th of August, 2021 on unusually heavy trading volume.
