Fashion is something that we deal with every day in our life. In general fashion is a term for a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, body piercing, or furniture. Fashion refers to a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style with which a person dresses, as well as to prevailing styles in behavior. Fashion in general sense is promoted by the way celebrities dress. Fashion also refers to the newest creations of textile designers. The more technical term, costume, has become so linked to the term "fashion" that the use of the former has been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while "fashion" means clothing more generally and the study of it.

A “Fashion Runway” was recently organized by Poddar International College in which weaving dreams out of fabrics the students of Fashion Designing showcased their incredible talents by designing incredible outfits for the renowned fashion divas.

Fashion has entered our lives and taken a very important spot in our lives. There was a time when the concept of fashion was only in the occasions. Though, it would be pointless to compare the present generation with our generation, but today fashion has become an important part of our lives. But there is a very clear difference between the present and the older generation.

The teenagers seem to be more fashionable than the adults now. In fact, they can be good trendsetters themselves. Fashion is always changing like the wind, which makes it difficult for the common man to keep pace with the latest fashion but still fashion is the key word for today's teenagers, hence there are many teens that invent their own styles and aim at becoming an icon among their groups.

Adopting experiential learning, the students of Fashion Designing of Poddar International College were taken to attend a ‘Block Printing Workshop’ at Bagru, where they acquired useful insights of the Bagro print.

Expression of Identity

Our chosen modes of self-expression serve as a reflection of our identities and ideals. It can come in many shapes and sizes, from self-care routines to fashion and art. Our decisions try to fit in with society norms while also showcasing our individuality and influencing how others see us. We are able to express ourselves through art in ways that allow for the creation of powerful, nonverbal messages. In the end, self-expression is a useful tool for fostering self-love and exposing our true selves. It does not have to be elaborate or spectacular; little actions like speaking up or writing down ideas can have a big impact on our ability to find our identities and communicate authentically. Self-expression is a powerful tool that enables us to value our uniqueness.

Boosting Confidence

It is normal to feel insecure and self-conscious at times, yet fashion can be a potent tool for boosting self-esteem. It's a great method to play around with new looks, forms, and hues, and it also lets us convey our individuality without using words. Our clothing choices can positively impact our self-esteem and have a cascading effect on other aspects of our lives. When we dress in a way that makes us feel good about ourselves and at ease, it shows through and exudes assurance. This increased self-assurance can be life-changing, enabling us to take on new tasks and overcome any hurdles that arise.

An International Conference was organized by Poddar International College for the students of Design. The event was facilitated by UAL Delegate and International Academician and Lecturer, Conchita Currie from London College.

For young people who are enthusiastic about fashion, the fashion business offers a variety of job prospects as it continues to grow and change. Fashion design and photography are two prominent fields in the industry that demand specialized talents from their respective practitioners.
