Free personal grants for single mothers

When a person becomes a parent, every dollar counts, especially if they are alone. Single mothers not only have to cover all their family expenses with a single salary, but they also tend to work more shifts than normal thus losing quality time with their children. Fortunately, there are several programs in the United States that provide financial assistance to apply for grants for single mothers .
These are just a few of the special programs and grants that could provide some oxygen to these families. There are even some that will save the mother money on taxes and childcare expenses . Let's see them!

The American government offers financial aid to single mothers in a variety of ways through a wide variety of social programs including food delivery, housing, childcare, and student scholarships.

To qualify for any of these programs, a series of criteria must be met that vary depending on the state of residence and also on the social program chosen. Let's know the most popular:

Federal financial aid for low-income single mothers
The following financial grants could help you pay your bills on time and, of course, save money on paying taxes :

Federal tax credits. As a low-income single mother, you may qualify for any of these exemptions. The first is the Earned Income Tax Credit Working ( EITC ), which is a benefit for working people who earn income classified as low or moderate; and Child Tax Credit ( Child Tax Credit ), you grant an exemption of up to $ 2,000 for paying taxes for every child who lives with you.

The latter will not entitle you to a refund, but it will decrease the amount of taxes you will have to pay each year. The third and final federal credit is the Additional Tax Credit ( Additional Child Tax Credit ), through which you will be assigned a payment for each child you have, even if you don't owe anything in taxes.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) . The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) offers temporary cash and food assistance to low-income single mothers through TANF. To see more about this program, do not hesitate to visit its official website .
Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) . Low-income women who are pregnant , nursing, or have children under the age of 5 may qualify for financial assistance with WIC. With the WIC card , mothers will be able to buy food products that will help them maintain a healthy diet. This program is managed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
