From Disaster to Perfection, a Picture Framing Story!

I bought a house last year, in fact I bought the house of my dreams. It needed a lot of work doing to it but I didn't mind because it was the house that i had lived in as a child and wanted to buy as an adult. It took me a long time to get the house into a reasonable shape and the first room I did was the living room.

I had new flooring, a new fire, custom made blinds and beautifully plastered walls. The room needed filling so i bought a new three piece leather suite, book shelves and TV stand. Everything was very good quality and I was over the moon. All that was missing was a picture for above the fire place.

Along with all the new furniture I bought, my grandmother gave me a load of old photographs of me and my sister when we were little. picture framing near me They were lovely and were crying out for a good picture frame. I went to a well known High street store and bought one of those large picture frames with several cut outs where you put your pictures in.

I couldn't wait to get the photos in so sat down one Saturday night and tried to work out how i could put the photos in. It was a total disaster. Firstly, there was no indication of where the photos should go, no way of sticking them down and all the cut outs were different sizes which didn't fit the photos I had. Each time I tried to work out a system it went wrong. I would lift the mount and frame up and all the pictures would either drop straight out or fall slightly out of the cut out. After spending too much time to mention on getting these framed I gave it up as a bad job.

A friend of mine suggested a local framing company who would be able to do all the work for me. I popped down one morning and explained my situation. I took the photos with me and left them with the shop. The owner of the shop went through all the different options available to me. I chose a much nicer, better quality frame for the photos and a good quality mount too. Because it was a professional picture framing service I was able to have the cut outs made for the photos I had chosen, making it a very personal picture.

The cost was reasonable too and it saved me so much time and energy that it was well worth it. One week later I went down to the shop and was overjoyed with the results. The photos were beautifully displayed, each cut out showing the picture off to its best advantage. The picture frame was custom made and the colour matched my colour scheme in the living room perfectly. I was especially pleased to see they had included everything I needed to hang the picture too. I couldn't wait to get it home and put it up. To be honest I haven't stopped looking at it since.
