For shaft encoders that operate in a situation where temporary use or pressure spraying is possible, there are three liquid entry points that can be detrimental to the encoder.

These are
1. The shaft connector,
2. The axis, and
3. Between the case of housing and the intermediary center.

If water is filtered at any of these three points, after a period of time, the encoder will fail for one reason or another which may be: corrosion, damage to the circuit, sensor contamination, dilution of bearing lubricant, etc. To ensure the maximum life of the encoders operating in wet conditions, EMS now offers an IP67 environmental seal option. This includes an axle seal designed exclusively for EMS that prevents water from passing through the shaft seal interface through redundant seals. In addition, we manufacture an O-ring seal between the encoder housing and the bearing hub, effectively eliminating the potential moisture ingress at this point. Finally, the M12 connector is sealed for better protection against water ingress. The result is an encoder that is ready to face challenging manufacturing environments.

Electronica Mechatronics Systems provides you with the best IP67 encoders that can work in extreme conditions that may appear in the manufacturing sectors. In addition, they can be operated at their maximum limits without associated delays, which gives you an uninterrupted experience in your workplace and, in return, you can achieve better results.
