Hair Care Tips - How to Keep Your Hair Healthy

Keeping your hair care tips clean is essential for keeping it healthy. To achieve this, avoid using hot water while washing it, as it will dry your hair and strip it of its protective oils. Instead, apply bottle gourd juice to your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing. This can help prevent brittle hair by reducing the risk of breakage.

Over-washing your hair can also make it dry, resulting in dull and lifeless locks. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the recommended washing frequency should be based on the oiliness of your scalp. If your scalp is oily, you should wash your hair daily, but if you have drier hair, you should limit the washing frequency to once or twice per week. For this reason, it is best to choose a shampoo that suits your hair type.

Another important tip for hair care is to avoid using perfumes on your hair. The chemicals in perfumes will dry out your hair and alter the colour. Also, do not over-brush your hair as this will spread the sebum throughout the length of your hair, which will make it look greasy. In addition, you should avoid chewing or twirling your hair, as this will lead to breakage and split ends. When drying your hair, wrap it in a towel to absorb moisture and reduce the amount of heat you need to apply to dry your hair.

Moreover, regular scalp massages will help keep your scalp hydrated and stimulate good blood circulation. A massage will also relax the muscles and nerves in the scalp, keeping it soft and pliable. You can apply firm pressure to your scalp using your fingertips and work in a circular motion. Be careful not to pull your hair while massaging. The massage should last between three to four minutes.

You can also use almond oil on your hair to treat dry and damaged tresses. Warm almond oil can be applied to your hair and scalp for about 40 seconds. After that, you can rinse it off with shampoo and conditioner. If you don't have time for a full-length treatment, you can apply almond oil and jojoba oil overnight. The following morning, dry it gently from root to tip.

If you have oily hair, you should avoid shampooing it every day. This is a good way to maintain your natural oil and keep your hair clean. However, you should always be aware of your scalp's type. It is vital to use a shampoo that is designed for your hair type. Aim to use a shampoo without sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which strips your scalp of natural oils.

Another good remedy for dry hair is egg yolk. It contains plenty of nutrients and works as a moisturiser. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Therefore, it prevents scalp infections. In addition, it has antioxidant properties that keep your hair from breaking and ageing. You can add lavender or peppermint oil to it to mask its smell.
