I heard about this game around September/October 2015 and I was really hooked. Up to this point I've spent 5 years on a different FPS - A.V.A and I was really getting bored with it so I was looking for something new. First Assault seemed to be the answer. I signed up for the CBT and surprisingly, I was immediately accepted. The CBT was a blast, although it ended before I could get the hang of the game, but I knew I wanted more, so I kept an eye on it.

It was announced that the game will enter a stage of Early Access on Steam, the lowest price to get instant access was $5, but people, who had already participated in the CBT were automatically given access again.
When I first heard that Ghost in the Shell was going to be turned in to a MMO I was excited but then I heard it was going to be a FPS, I was sort of okay with it and except something awesome out of it but I was sadly let down, I love the Ghost in the Shell series but how it got turned into this was a huge let down, they could of made it better or more story driven or MMORPG.
First Assault players and fans of the series will be given access to all of the original members of Section 9, all voiced by the original English cast. They will also have the option of choosing one of several characters created specifically for the game.
- Arm Launcher - fires 1 rocket (2 rockets on Tier 2) and causes damage to a large area of effect where it hits, it can kill 5 people at once and any machinery is destroyed - Nanogel Armor - heals self over time (heals other, who sync as well on Tier 2) - Sentry Turrent - spawns a sentry turret on the ground (more HP and range of movement on Tier 2) - Seeker Drone - spawns one (two on Tier 2) seeker drone that finds enemies on the map and explodes in them - Thermoptic Camouflage - makes self invisible (makes other, who sync as well on Tier 2) - Hypersrpint - gives self increased run speed an jump (makes other, who sync as well on Tier 2) - Thermoptic Barrier - spawns a barrier that slows bullets down and makes allies behind the barrier invisible (makes the barrier larger on Tier 2) - Heat Sensor - basically a legal wallhack (makes other use it, who sync as well on Tier 2)

A variety of modes await players in First Assault, from Tem Deathmatch to Terminal Conquest. Terminal Conquest rewards players with the versatile Tachikoma for a period to use against their foes.
My personal opinion is that GITS:FA has a lot of potential and everyone should give it a fair chance. My suspicion is that the game will reach a stage of OBT around the summer of 2016, so keep an eye on it, it's going to be a great experience.
Those skills change the overall game play dramatically, because players have to keep in mind what characters are on each team, and certain characters can devise a strategy to take over a key point or straight up complete the objective.
Fans of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex will find First Assault Online a welcome addition to the anime and its characters.

The game at this point is unavailable for those who don't have access (free sign up and waiting for approval or $5), and there isn't much content right now. Players are asking for more weapons and more maps, also recently there was an official survey conducted by the staff about PvE mode. Yes, GITS:FA will eventually add PvE mode, something that many regular players of the games and GITS fans in general have been asking for.
Since December 14 2015, I played the hell out of this game. I managed to unlock most of the weapons that I'm interested in (not counting shotguns or snipers) and I'm still playing the game. It has one unique feature - character skills. Some of the skills can be synced between characters. Each character has a unique skill:

The only bit a liked was when you can scout out the area in cyber space.
Based on the massively popular anime Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, First Assault Online is a free-to-play FPS courtesy of Neople and Nexon. Players can join Major Motoko Kusanagi and the members of Section 9 in all-out FPS fights.
For players looking to give themselves an extra boost in gameplay, they can try the cyberbrain implants, just like in the show. But the cyberbrain implants must be used carefully, as they will eventually burn out. In First Assault, that makes the implant slot unusable for a time.
