The actual Wild Horses of Northwest Colorado: Sand Wash Basin

High clouds and lots of sunshine guided our means from Craig to Sand Wash Basin many months ago. We saw more cows in comparison with cars as we driven Hwy 40 through Maybell after which turned slight north about Hwy 318.

It was apparent that they’d spent a bit being herded down Hwy 318 since evidenced by droppings within the roadway. Thankfully, the sheep and herders were taking a break alongside their dogs and horses so when we slowly drove previous the sheep gawked from us.

We didn’t find out what to expect as all of us entered Sand Wash Container which encompasses 154, 940 miles of Bureau of Stretch of land Management (BLM) land, YOU, 960 acres of individual land and 840 miles of state land. I hoped we’d see old horses but I wasn’t controlling my breath.

We had been in Moffat County, by far the most westerly and northerly region in Colorado. Bordering Wyoming in addition to Utah, it is about three million acres, two-thirds of which are public land lenient with all types of leisure activity. The county can also be home to Dinosaur Country wide Monument.

That’s not necessarily gone away. This is just a delay. It’s not visiting happen when we thought it had been going to happen. We still believe that it will happen. ”.
