How can I make my children adhere to the Qur’an?

First of all, you yourself should adhere to the Qur’an. It is known that children are attentive to what they find their parents are attentive to. Hence comes the importance of the role of parents regarding implanting a certain idea in the children. Your children copy your actions, so be a good example for them.

It is well-known that one of the most important principles that parents should teach their children is the adherence and love of the Book of Allah (SW).

What is the Qur’an?

Many Muslim children do not understand the real position of the Holy Qur’an, especially those who live in countries far from the lands of Islam and not marked by the Islamic identity, as well as those brothers and sisters who cannot speak Arabic. That is normal, for lack of understanding is the normal result of lack of knowledge. Hence, it is mandatory for parents to help their children to truly understand what the Noble Qur’an is, so it will be easier for them to consider and adhere to it.

It is possible to clarify the reality of the Qur’an to your children by telling them stories of the occasions in which parties of the Quran have been revealed to Prophet Muhammad, may Allah exalt his name. That will help them to know how Quran is related to our everyday life and how Quran should control it.

Always try to make your behavior controlled by the teachings of the Qur’an, that your children may see you and know how Quran shall be influential.

Since children try to copy their parents more or less based on their age, and always they are asking about the reason for things, now you can get the chance to explain to them that you do that because it is Allah’s order in the Quran. For example, upon some situation that you were grateful to one of your parents while your child is noticing that, it is your time know to let him know that is the order of the Quran. So the child will see how Quran should be influential to our life

In conclusion, just show your child how important the teachings of the Qur’an are in our lives, and how should Muslim characters reflect them, and surely you will find the result of that comes clearly.

Use the conditionality to achieve this goal

The psychological factor should be taken into consideration, one should try to make the Quran always associated with happy and fine things for the child, and you should prevent the opposite to happen.
