How To Start Windows 7 Boot Menu On Windows 10

§ Using bootrec

First: Use bcdedit

1. Navigate your cursor on Windows 10 start menu.

2. Tap on Start Menu or click on the search box.

3. Put “cmd.exe” in the search box without ant quotes.

4. Here icon previews as Command Prompt.right-Click on the Command Promote icon and hold on, still appear Run as Administrator.

5. In this process Elevated Command Prompt. your window will appear “bcdedit /set “{current}” bootmenupolicy legacy.”

6. After entering your command, right-click Enter button on your Keyboard.

7. Here your command promotes the show.

8. Exit without putting quotes.

9. Again Tap enter button on your Keyboard.

10.Restart your Windows 10 operating system.

If you again want to switch back to the Windows 10 boot menu, then tap on the Start icon or in the search option, input “Cmd.exe” as you have done in previous steps.

1. Right-click on command prompt and choose the “Run as administrator” option.

2. Here in command prompt enter “bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard” don’t put any quotes.

3. Tap the enter button on Keyboard again to follow the command to execute.

4. Close the command prompt window and reboot your operating system.

Second: Use Bootrec

You can also try the bootrec features to enable legacy Windows 7 boot menu into your Windows 10.

It is the same as fixing Windows 7 boot, but here you can do this using a CD/DVD. Here are the steps to do so.

1. Insert CD/DVD to boot your Windows 7

2. choose your language as you like.

3. Tap on Next.

4. Choose the operating system Windows 7 from the list shown on your screen.

5. System Recovery Option appears on your computer screen.

6. Tap on Command Promote

7. In the command box type ‘bootrec /fixmbr’ and hit on Enter button.

8. Input ‘bootrec /fixboot’ and hit the Enter button.

9. Input ‘bootrec /ScanOs’ and hit the Enter button.

10.Input ‘bootrec /rebuildBcd’ hit the Enter button.

11.Remove Windows 7 installed CD/DVD.

12.Put ‘exit,’ Hit the Enter button, and restart your PC.
