How To Unlock BootLoader On Verizon Pixel (8.1.0 OTA)

Several users complain of not knowing how to unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel. Unlocking bootloader On VerizonPixel is quite easy for some users but not for others. If you are amongst the users who do not know how to unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel, then you have come to the right place. Follow the steps mentioned below to do the task in no time.

Here are some requirements to unlock Bootloader

Google USB Drivers
Platform-Tools ( this is for the manual firmware upgrade) for Windows, Linux, Mac
Android Oreo 8.1.0 Firmware for Google Pixel 2
ADB & Fastboot
Here are the steps for upgrading the Google Pixel 2 to 8.1.0 Oreo

Start by installing the Platform Tools.
Run then on the system.
Download Google USB drivers.
Then, install the Android Oreo 8.1.0 firmware.
Name the file as update.zip.
Add it in the Platform Tools main file.
Disable Google Pixel 2.
Reboot into Recovery Mode.
Long press on the Volume down and Power key.
Don’t free the keys till the Fastboot Mode shows on the desktop.
For highlighting the Recovery Mode and Power, use the Volume keys.
Go to the Recovery Mode window.
Select the Apply Update option.
This is an option located on the ADB section.
Pair the Google Pixel 2 to the computer.
For this procedure, take the help of the USB cable.
In the Platform Tools file, long press on the Shift and right-click on the file.
Select the Open a Command Windows Here option.
The ADB console opens on the desktop.
Enter the below-mentioned command:
adb sideload update.zip

Once the firmware upgrading process finishes, boot the Google Pixel 2 in the Android phone. Steps for unlocking the Google Pixel 2 Verizon variant Bootloader

If you unlock the bootloader, then this will remove all the data stored on the device. It also reset the device, ensure you have taken a backup of all the files before following the steps mentioned below:

Firstly, turn on the Developer Options.
Click Settings tab.
Click About.
Click on the Build Number 7 times till the Developer Mode gets activated.
Click Settings tab.
Press Developer Options.
Turn on USB debugging option.
Pair the Google Pixel 2 to the computer through USB cable.
Click on the ADB installation file.
Open the command menu.
This command menu includes Shift, Right-click, Open a Command Window Here.
Click on the Command prompt.
Enter the below-mentioned command:
adb start-server

The *daemon started successfully* will display in the console menu.
Enter ADB devices on the given column.
Go back to the serial number in case the ADB is not working properly with the device.
In case it is not working properly, you have to fix the ADB installation or USB connection error.
In case the ADB can’t find the device, enter in the ADB menu, which is mentioned below:
adb reboot bootloader

It will boot the Google Pixel 2 in the Fastboot Mode.
Enter in the ADB menu, which is mentioned below:
fastboot flashing lock_critical

Go through the guidelines mentioned on the device display.
It will finish the unlocking procedure of the bootloader.
