As for your weapon, I would prefer the whip or RS gold the Dragon Scimitar. Monkey Madness is needed for the Dragon Scimmy and it does take some time, but it's definitely worth it when you train to build strength. Whip on the contrary is an excellent choice for attack and defence.

Dragon Defender is good (once you actually get it). Also for a great set of gloves, I would suggest using RFD and getting Dragon/Barrows gloves. Heck , even Mithril gloves can be extremely good. To obtain them, you have to do Recipe for Disaster, and I strongly recommend doing that at the top of your ability...
