If You Are a Runner, You Need a GPS Watch

GPS watches have been around for a long while now. They resemble regular watches in that they still can tell time. But what makes these watches different from the rest is their ability to make your life easier. One of the ways they can make your life easier, if you are a runner, is by helping you out with your training regimen.

The GPS watch for runners not only allows you to keep track of time but also allows you to track your training progress ( how far you've travelled, how fast did you go, what your average pace was, etc...). In the past, pedometers were used to record some of this data, but with GPS watches, the data captured is more robust and more accurate.

There are a number of manufacturers who have jumped into the GPS watch market, but none have made as big of a splash as Garmin has. The Garmin Forerunner series of watches with GPS are making runners stand up and applaud. These watches can monitor multiple things like your distance travelled, your heart rate, your pace, etc... The more advanced Garmin GPS watches, like the Garmin Forerunner 201 GPS watch, can also display a virtual training partner who will show up on your watch beside the pace and workout you've selected for yourself and will indicate if you are exceeding or falling behind your expected workout performance.
