Connect a Progress OpenEdge database to EDQ by JDBC.
We have a number of Progress OpenEdge databases and need to connect the EDQ tool to them. We have the correct Progress drivers installed on the EDQ server, but are unable to create a connection using the JDBC driver - we keep getting a 2011 error. I'm not sure if the issue is with the Progress driver or if it's how we have configured EDQ. Any help would be appreciated.

Apologies for not getting back to you.
We are running EDQ on a Windows 2008R2 server, we're trying to connect to a Progress database on a Windows 2003 server. The Progress toolset includes a set of odbc & jdbc drivers and these are installed on the EDQ server. The Progress tools have a program that allows us to successfully make a JDBC connection from the EDQ server to the Progress database with the following connection string:
We'v tried a number of different varieties of this connection string and we've tried copying the Progress jar file to different places on the EDQ server. I also tried to replicate the process for adding in a driver for a DB2 database [ https://hgcerpedq00v:9004/edq/help/Content/concepts/data_stores.htm ]. But that didn't work either.We also tried copying the Progress jar files to: tomcat\7.0\webapps\edq\WEB-INF\lib - but no luck there either.

In one of the log files I see that the driver jar has been placed in WEB-INF/ib/dbconnectors. This does not work - the folder is for internal configuration files (XML and jars) describing how to make connections to databases.
It does not work in WEB-INF/lib either - the classes need to be visible to the JDBC framework in the JVM and WEB-INF/lib is not in the right classloader for this. Instead, place the driver jar in the tomcat/7.0/lib directory and try again.

We have placed openedge.jar in the tomcat/7.0/lib directory, and restarted the services including tomcat - unfortunately, we are getting the same error message.
