This app is featured with same options and features as the i-OS app that include - personal, home, photo taking,, settings etc. There are no extra tools in this release. The user's can also integrate the application into other tools using Instagram's Application Programming Interface. The key feature of this app is that the users are allowed to share photos on multiple platforms without having to wait for much time. This is a free app and the company may soon launch a "Freemium" pricing model with some additional features, that can be purchased for a nominal subscription fee.

To access Instagram app for Android, the users are required to sign up for the Instagram with their mail-id, address, login name and password. This account can be linked to the social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler accounts etc. The Android users can now take photos or use the existing photos from the image gallery on their phones and let them do some quick changes by applying several filter effects and then share those photos with others. This app for Android even allows the users to follow their friends on Instagram which makes it a social network. It is found that, more than 1 million Android users downloaded the app in the first 24 hours and there were 719,874 Twitter mentions of Instagram and Android within the first 24 hours of the app's release linkinbio. There are several other features attached to the application, which makes it something more than an enhancement application.
