SIM Card reader drive not detected in Windows Explorer.
Original Title" drive for sim card reader no longer shows up in "computer" - any solutions?
Win 7 use to display the driver in "computer" list of drives (and opening "sound" signal) when a sim card was inserted, but now no longer shows so obviously content cannot be opened. Any suggestions for solution?

Welcome to Microsoft Community Forum.
As per the description, I understand that your SIM card reader drive does not show up in Windows Explorer.
I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.
What happens when you connect your SIM card reader to your computer? Do you get any error message? Is it a USB SIM card reader? If yes, are other USB devices getting detected by Windows? Have you checked connecting the SIM card reader to any other computer? Does it get detected by Windows?
There could be a number of reasons why an external device is not getting detected in Windows. The primary reasons for this issue could be because the currently loaded USB driver or USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt.
Let’s try these methods below and check if that solves the problem.
Method 1:
First, I would suggest you to run the following Microsoft Fixit to get the problem automatically detected and fixed.
Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.
Method 2 :
Initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager.
To initiate recognition of the USB device by using Device Manager, follow these steps:
Click Start , click Run , type Devmgmt.msc , and then click OK . The Device Manager window opens. Click to select your computer as the location for the scan. On the Action menu, click Scan for hardware changes . Close the Device Manager if Windows recognizes the Device.
Method 3:
We may also try to update the device driver and check if that solves the problem, follow the steps in the article below to update the hardware device driver.
Update the driver for hardware that isn't working properly.
Hope this helps. Please let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.
