About This Game

After the revolution, humanity’s efforts to meld cold robotics and nature have paid off. Earth has revitalized itself – and now the global utopia once thought impossible has become a reality. This bio-mechanical paradise has emerged thanks in no small part to a steady disarmament campaign.



Yet even in times of absolute peace, shadowy secrets lurk. Several weapon research facilities remain operational; hidden from the public eye, they’re kept alive as an ‘insurance policy’ against unforeseen threats. Within these clandestine halls, scientists work tirelessly to design powerful combat systems never before imagined by humankind. When a security breach threatens one of these facilities (Arch City), you’ll take control of the most advanced hardware ever developed: a Human-Operated Remote Droid prototype.

Elite pilots of the advanced H.O.R.D. chassis are tasked with blasting through endless squads of rebellious bots. These aren't just your average Serve N' Show bots either - Charge Bots, Slice Bots, Bouncing Betties, Crab Bots, and Hyper Turrets, to name a few. Surviving that maelstrom, well, no one has made it. Yet.



Can You Kite?

The best of the best know how to fight the toasters without taking damage. By running away from charging enemies while blasting backwards at them, a well equipped H.O.R.D. pilot can keep their distance while unloading ordnance down range. This gun-play-ballet is known as 'kiting' and mastering it will serve you well against any foe, but especially:

Pingbot: Pingbots come in threes and wind up sniper shots. They are pretty easy to predict and have an extremely slow attack, but left alone they can ping down targets.

Medbot: The ultimate companion, this self sufficient side piece will heal itself and whatever it’s guarding. Players may unlock Medbot in the Workshop for themselves, but they will also face off against enemy Medbots who can turn any unit into a damage soaking beast!

Gatbot: With a slow turret tracking speed players can out-circle it’s main guns, but Gatbot’s backup weapons often shutdown the best laid plans. Full support from a Point Defense and Medbot turn this mobile bruiser into an unstoppable bullet hose.

i love this game so much the creator worked three years on this and i actually got to meet him at a comicon he is really cool and i ould like to give him as much support as i can and if you see this thanks for making it and i actualy record this on my youtube channel and plan to get more videos out soon good luck on the game and please play it. The game appears to be abandoned - no word from the developers for what feels like an eternity since the last update. I don't think the game is in a good enough state to be left like this.. I've been watching this game grow since the very beginning. It's come a VERY long way, and the developer has been listening to his community's feedback every step of the way. KITE is an example of an Early Access game done right, and I'm excited to see where this journey ends. The weapon selection kicks♥♥♥♥♥ and the gameplay is a ton of fun. Check it out if you're a fan of action top down shooters.. I nominated this game for an award.. KITE is a guns-blazing, option-laden, statistic-building top-down shooter that would've been right at home alongside Soldiers of Fortune/The Chaos Engine and TechnoClash on the Sega Genesis.

At first glance, I was hoping for a return to the strategic battles and visceral carnage provided by the classic Crusader: No Remorse and No Regret games, but what I (happily) got was an 80's cyberpunk Zombies Ate My Neighbors--you'll rescue scientists, scour pre-designed, enemy-strewn levels, and work to upgrade your destructive arsenal.

There's a lot to like about Lab Cat Games' Kite, and the love and heart that went into it shows. Between the awesome retro artwork, the cyberpunk setting and soundtrack, and the overwhelming number of weapons, skills, and stat tweaks available to players, everyone can build a shapely war machine that fits their play style to a "T". While the game currently has a solid couple of hours worth of gameplay (assuming you're good at it, which I'm not), the promise of additional levels and the polish present in this early-access title already makes it worth supporting and enjoying.
