[SOLVED]Driver issues with Realtek RTL8111/8168B ethernet(rev 03)
Hello, I am having issues with my networking, internet keeps fluctuating between normal speed, being slow, and not working at all. I am currently using the r8168 8.035 driver from the AUR and have previously tried the r8168 8.034 driver from the community repo and the stock r8169 driver, they all work the same for me, I see no difference. Everything I've read basically told me to install the r8168 driver, but this didn't work at all. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks.

You installed the r8168 modules, but did you read the output of pacman for instructions on how to actually impelement them?

I did what the wiki told me to do, unloaded r8169, loaded r8168, blacklisted r8169, and rebooted.
When I do a "lspci -v" it tells me I'm using r8168.

Okay, just making sure since you didn't mention that part.
BTW, I have this.
As you can see, it is a revision 7. Mine only functions okay with the r8168 module. When I first got the machine and installed Arch, I had no idea that there was an r8168 module, as I had never had one of these card before. It took some two to three hours to install just base. Needless to say that after it finished, I went and diagnosed the problem first thing. But I have also seen reports of revision 3 working perfectly fine w/o r8168. funky things these realtek cards.

Okay, after reading somewhere you should shutdown and hold your power button for 30 secs, I did that, and now it works for some reason.
Only I have to boot by entering the BIOS and immediately leaving it, but that's a small inconvenience, at least internet works perfectly now.

Hm, strange thing:
$ lspci -v | grep Ethernet 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 06) Subsystem: ASRock Incorporation Motherboard (one of many) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 44 I/O ports at e000 [size=256] Memory at f0004000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K] Memory at f0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: r8169.
I have this on my desktop system and it is running ootb since I've installed Arch.
