amazed in first time installation of realtek ac97 driver I am hearing sound in my PC. Grt Job done . right place for not wasting your time.

Worked great when I spent hours on other website failures. Sure, you need to refuse several offers of crapware at installation, but it was worth it! This has the same code as the Realtek site which is no longer available through them.

I cannot believe that CNET, of all companies, allowed spyware to be downloaded onto my computer along with this driver. You should be ashamed. You GUARANTEE it won't have spyware, virus, or malware, but it DID. Now I will have to spend the rest of the day fixing this instead of working. AND to top it off, it didn't fix my speaker issue. UGH! Ridiculous!
Do not bother. Download the driver elsewhere.

I HAVE NO PROS TO THIS DOWNLOAD ONLY CONS!
Every possible Con you could come up with is in this download. First time I tried it froze my computer and started to download it multiple times. I thought it was just my old computer, so I stopped/canceled and restarted my computer.This time, I thought it downloaded without a hitch (I Spoke TOO Soon).An error message come up and indicated I should cancel because the software is not "Compatible with Windows" and would bring "harm to my computer either "immediately or in the future". Like a normal person I cancelled the download & installation. After closing all my windows I had noticed I had downloaded two other game software programs and some other thing I didn't know what it was. Of course I go to my control panel and try to remove these unwanted downloads two are removed but one of the game programs is now stuck on my computer. It indicates that the kernel is down and the InstallSheild could not remove!!
