About This Game

Take control of a range of different machines and operate them in a unique environment. Each new game generates a new and fully dynamic world, and it is yours to develop: Dig and build anything, anywhere!

All machines have been carefully modelled down to small details. They all have opening doors and hatches, switches that control fully simulated systems, and have realistic physics models. You climb into and onto the machines, watch battery and fuel levels, follow realistic procedures that mimic the real machines. Our goal is to make you think of these machines as your own.

What you choose to do is up to you. Machine World revolves around Blueprints, which are generated by us at Trino and by players. Blueprints challenge you to build certain structures, and can have time and fuel limits. But if you just want to develop your own buildings in your own world, you can. In a sense, that is what it is designed to do. Machine World is about total, creative freedom.

Features

  • 16+ unique, fully modelled machines (14 currently unlocked, with more to follow)
  • Component modelled machines. All systems are discretely system modelled, including engines, fuel tanks/pumps, batteries, gear boxes, etc. This means that under the hood, the game simulates these systems interacting individually, which will allow us to add system failures and resource management to the game.
  • Fully deformable terrain. Dig and deform anywhere, without limitations. Dynamic (and removable) trees, rocks and debris.
  • Dynamic water simulation. Takes the dynamic terrain into account and simulates various wave behaviours in real time based on weather and wind.
  • Unlimited number of worlds, procedurally generated on demand (based on real world erosion and other terrain factors).
  • Large catalog of construction parts and materials, including lighting, windows, doors, etc.
  • First person oriented, and you can enter buildings you create and install lights, etc. (Furniture will arrive during Early Access).
  • A labor of love. We love machines and creativity.

Controller and Joystick support

Gamepad or dedicated joystick(s) recommended, but mouse and keyboard can be used.

this is a good but dificult so give it a try.. Id steer clear of this game for awhile. While it has potentional and can be a fun game. Their has been no news about updates in quite sometime. The devs havent updated their site, their boards, or their social media pages for sometime. No communication has been put out, so the game is pretty scretchy.. Great game in concept however this game does need multiplayer and a survival mode to make it fun. Also alot of the vehicles do not work yet.. For all those people out there who love a simulative sand box game where you can drive, build and explore, this game is for you. Machine World 2 uses realisitc graphics and machines. You want to build a mansion, you can do it. You want to build a mansion on a mountain, you can do it. You want to build a mansion on a mountain with a helicopter pad to land your private sport helicopter on, YOU CAN DO IT. The truth is Machine World 2 is a game that anyone with a creative mind will love. I know i do.. UPDATE
After some months of no update i have to give an update onmy review. All that was set in my previous comment still is true, but the silence fromthe developers, and the absense of new content or fixes or something make me warn other players to buy this tittle in this momment. The concept is still great, but the so called (by me) experienced developers team has prove me wrong.
Still hope to see more of this game but at this moment even with the great machines, models and escenery is more like a demo with no more than 50 minutes (or less) to test it all.

FIRST IMPRESION MONTHS AGO
Good concept for the machine entusiastics, it in very early state and need improvement in al areas, I would recommend this only for the ones who likes to participate in the development proccess, The controls, physics, performance is good for me (im in an 4 years old pc). i would give this experienced delevopers team a vote of confidence.. Think back to your childhood days of playngi with old Tonka trucks in the sandbox. Now make that a digital world. Thats what has been done here. This game has got so much potential, despite a slight learning curve this game has hours upon hours of playability, and it can only get better from here.. Overall It's a good game, there are a few glitches here and there, but that is to be expected with something in early access. The game does a good job of being realistic, but still catering to those that don't want to do things by the book, and want to just build something. The game still needs to be optimized, as it can get a little laggy when there are a lot of vehicles, but they are working on this, as well as some of the vehicle physics. It's a great concept, and the developers have done a good job so far, so I am excited to see what the future holds for MW2.. Good game, fix the cam though. No updates, no communication, only whining about not making enough money. Game is dead do not waste your money or time.. i thought this game was gunna fun to mess around and have fun. first this game is super challanging to even get in the atv and exevator. this game is so bad it should even be eary acces. i wasted my money and am hopeing to get a full refund


Update 0.1.4.6 - Iterative!:

We will shortly release a new build into the Iterative branch. You will find this build under the "betas" tabs in the properties window for MW2 in the Steam client (right click the game, select properties).
As you may suspect, this build is still undergoing tweaking and testing so proceed with caution! :)

However, changes in the build are as follows:

  • Option for fully manual gearboxes (in gameplay settings)
  • Option to bypass climb/exit animations (in gameplay settings)
  • Massive changes to the spin/traction system
  • Massive changes to the automatic gearboxes and power transfer

    Feedback is very much appreciated as we will be tuning this during the next couple of days before releasing this into the default branch.

. New version - system upgrade:

We have been hard at work upgrading various systems that MW2 rely on. This is to reduce problems going forwards as well as reducing the few rare but severe problems that a few of our users have encountered.

So, both the default and iterative branches have now received updates. If you opt in to the iterative beta branch (right click MW2 in Steam and select the betas tab, opt in to "iterative"), you will receive a fairly big update.
This will move to the default branch as well within a few days.

As such we would very much like to see community content. Have you created a cool building or structure? Create a blueprint from it, and post a picture in the forums! We will let you know how to send it to us and we may include it in the game (complete with a credit with your steam name!).

We are happy to release a new build that continues to improve on the core functionality in the simulation. This is a preparation for the missions to come.

This new build contains the following:

- Major improvements to placement of the player and vehicle(s) in new game sessions. It will now be very rare to get a bad placement at game start, and the initial position will usually be very close to the shore.

- The AI for the Delivery Ship is further improved and it now better finds paths to tricky shores, and is also quicker to react to changes in orders (ie. when you send it away from the shore and then change your mind, etc.). In short, it should now be much easier to use.

- Many smaller fixes and improvements (performance, logging, etc.).

As always, this build is first released into the Iterative branch (you have to opt in to the beta) and in a couple of days it will become the default build.

I would like to take this opportunity to again ask for submissions for blueprints and ideas for missions you would like to see. Please post these in the forums - or discuss it on the Discord server (check the forum for details).

First things first: I want to thank all of you who have provided feedback to us. This is really invaluable to us and helps us improve the game while in Early Access. Thank you!

Now, on to the update - which again is released first into the iterative beta branch!* We expect it to be the default build sometime tomorrow.

During the last few days we have been focusing on improving deformation and ground material handling in general.

Basically, due to an obscure bug the entire ground deformation system was not entirely performing as intended: dropped material would not level off properly and at some points the dropped dirt could be too spiky, or too flat.
This is now fixed so whenever you dig or dump material, it will always "flow" if it exceeds around 35-40 degrees. We will tune this, and will also be able to have different max angles for various material types in the future.

We have also fixed a visual issue where the dirt particles would continue falling through things. They now die when they hit a surface or object.

Last but not least, the dumper trailer now performs as intended. Material will not fall off unexpectedly and if the latch is unlocked, it will flow out at a controllable pace. (If the latch is locked, it will stay put even at larger angles.)

As you know, we are currently working on improvements and laying the ground for multiplayer functionality.

However, we would like some feedback from you regarding what you think is a priority for fixing. What are your pet peeves and things that you would most like to see fixed ASAP?

We have noted that there seems to be a divide among the players; some like the game very much and give us high praise, others seemingly do not like it at all.
We would like to understand why the views are so divided, so any info or feedback you may have would be very welcome.

Hello everyone,

This is a surreal post to write. It is now the end of the day before release. In less than 24 hours Machine World 2 will be available. After about 3 years in development.

We hope everyone is as excited as we are, and will enjoy the game as much as we have enjoyed making it. In many ways the development has been harder than we thought, but even so it has been a really pleasant journey and we are very proud of how the game has turned out.

What you will play is our vision. Even though we are not done yet and the journey is far from complete, we feel we have accomplished much of what we set out to create.

A game where you have total freedom in a detailed and immersive environment. Waves on the ocean, trees swaying in the wind, day turning into night and with that the sounds change as darkness falls.
This environment is yours to explore and to develop as you choose, with the help of machines we have spent a lot of time trying to get right, to deliver the feel of the real thing.

We will release the game around 12:00 Central European Time.
That marks the end of these three years of closed development, and the start of an interesting journey with you! We can't wait to see what you think about Machine World 2, what you do with it, and how you help us shape the future of the game.
