Not that RS gold membership and mtx is poor, it's just the way it's moved about. As Purchasing Xp directly, There are some alternatives for. You could buy an amount of a denomination of bonus xp. You Could buy amounts of lamps, state 15 medium lamps for 4 bucks. These numbers are only examples or placeholder amounts not suggestions. You can buy a permanent item that gets charges while you ability or do combat and when it strikes a sensible threshold you'll be able to claim a solid chunk of xp according to your degree alongside a lamp, or silverhawk feathers as well as other skilling associated products. As it could be permanent, it might be sold for a good sum of money on the cash shop.

As PVP, it was murdered by Eoc for. Not that abilities and skills are awful for pvp, It's your ordinary runescape player would rather visit bdo, tera, Gw2 or other better ability established pvp games. Highscores are a meme as you said. They have zero relevence and to be able to get near highscores with mtx you would have to shell out tens of thousands of bucks for just ONE account. I don't believe I have even spent over 15 million on runescape over the many years I've spent playing runescape. 1 thing Runescape should do, is create your account have personality slots, which means you won't need to use multiple accounts. Not that logging in on different ones is tough, it merely will be more convenient.

I really don't think RS3 should be freemium since the runescape game will absolutely be botted or even altscaped to hell if this happened. Look at what free membership from Twitch Prime has done to our game throughout the raffle and what's it doing to OSRS with its reworked BH at the moment. The extent this occurs in the two matches is greatly reduced by membership fees. Moreover, how can you differentiate non-MTX runescape players out of MTX runescape players at hiscores other than ironman style? Even if you're able to, hiscores are still meaningless with just how much easyscape, DnDs, and momentary events that shit out too much xp.

This is a cogent article and obviously you have put in much idea balancing MTX realities with runescape player ire.I think the most important reason MTX is so damaging to RS3 is since RS3 is fundamentally an exp/grinding game, where the"progression" itself is what is fun/satisfying. Everything in RS is fundamentally a grind - grinding orbs out of Telos, grinding clue scrolls for a dye, grinding quests for to more quests, etc. While you can argue ironman/hardcore are short term cease gaps that make accomplishments"more real", the basic issue remains getting 99s is no more meaningful to the majority of runescape players. Also the pay to get quest done in osrs runescape player can't actually compare their experien
