Nine Simple How To Prevent Varicose Veins

Health Supplements

Around half of Americans will suffer from varicose varicose veins in their lifetime. Aside from being cosmetically unappealing, varicose veins (and their smaller, less superficial, capillary-based cousins spider veins) are able to make routine activities like walking or standing painful. In more severe cases, varicose veins can even result in skin ulcers.

Although there isn't a method to ensure the prevention of varicose veins, there are things you can do to lower your risk of developing varicose veins.

1. EXERCISE CONTINUALLY

Walking or running regularly is a great way to increase blood circulation and prevent vein dysfunction. A daily run or walk for 30 minutes per day can reduce blood pressure and enhance all aspects of the circulation system.

2. DO NOT QUIT EATING A HEALTHY METALLIUM

There's a clear correlation between weight gain and the formation of varicose veins. The excess weight puts pressure on the legs, which increases the amount of work that veins need to perform to ensure that blood flow is properly back towards the heart. A healthy weight will significantly decrease the chance of developing varicose or spider veins. Talk to your doctor about ways you can integrate healthy eating habits into your daily life and regular exercises.

3. ELEVATE YOUR LEGS

Proper blood circulation can be enhanced by elevating your legs higher than your heart when you are sleeping or sitting.

4. PRACTICE GOOD POSTURE

Research has proven that a good posture is a key for increasing circulation. It's important to stay clear of crossing your legs, as it can hinder the proper flow of blood.

5. AVOID PROLONGED STANDING AND SITTING

Prolonged standing or sitting keep the muscles of the calf inactive. This can cause significant weakness to the valves and walls of blood vessels that line your lower extremities over long periods of time. This can lead to vein dysfunction and increased venous pressure in both the feet and the legs. We recommend patients to have a mix of standing and sitting during their day. If sitting or standing for long periods of time is not possible, for instance with certain occupations, periodic shifts in posture such as calf exercises, short walks could help.

6. Stop smoking

One of the many repercussions of smoking cigarettes is the high blood pressure. This is a major contributor to varicose vein development.

7. AVOID BURN CONTROL PILLS FOR LONG-TERM Utilization

The use of hormonal birth control may increase the likelihood of varicose vein formation. This is due to the fact that increased estrogen may affect the functioning of the valves within the peripheral veins. Your health care provider can suggest alternative methods for long-term birth control.

8. WARDROBE CHANGES

Avoiding clothes that are extremely tight fitting around the waist and legs could assist in improving circulation of blood. Opt for clothing that is flexible and comfortable. You can also exchange high heels to get properly fitted flat or low-heeled shoes. Your feet will be happy.

9. COMPRESSION HOSE

If you're noticing signs of the beginning of vein growth on your legs try wearing compression hose. At athleticfestival, you can find an extensive selection of compression products that can aid. Our experts can help you choose the compression hose that will work best for your needs.
