One Palette, Multiple Uses- How to Maximise Your Concealer, Color Corrector and Contour Palette

A concealer, color corrector, and contour palette can be versatile tools in your makeup collection. By learning how to maximize their uses, you can achieve a flawless complexion and enhance your features. Let's delve into the details of each product and explore the various ways you can utilize them.

1. Concealer: Concealer is primarily used to camouflage imperfections, such as dark circles, blemishes, and redness. However, it has additional applications beyond traditional spot concealing. Here are some techniques to maximize your concealer's potential:

a. Highlighting: Choose a concealer shade one to two shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Apply it to the under-eye area, the center of the forehead, the nose bridge, the cupid's bow (upper lip), and the chin. This technique helps brighten and lift those areas, giving your face a more radiant and awake appearance.

b. Contouring: In addition to using a concealer shade lighter than your skin tone, select one, two to three shades darker. Apply the darker concealer to the hollows of your cheeks, the jawline, and the sides of your nose. Blend well to create subtle shadows, contouring and defining your facial features. Try the forever52 contour palette to create a unique effect.

c. Eyeshadow primer: Concealer can also serve as an excellent base for eyeshadow. Apply a thin layer of concealer to your eyelids, ensuring an even application. This step helps to neutralize discoloration and create a smooth canvas for your eyeshadow, making the colors more vibrant and long-lasting.

2. Color Corrector: Color correctors are to neutralize unwanted tones on the skin. Color corrector palettes consist of various colors, each targeting a different concern. Here's how you can maximize their uses:

a. Neutralizing dark circles: Use a colour corrector palette having a peach or orange undertone for deep blue or purple under-eye circles. Apply a small amount to the affected areas and blend gently with your fingers or a makeup sponge. Then, apply your regular concealer on top for a seamless finish.

b. Redness reduction: If you struggle with redness or rosacea, your best friend is a green color corrector from the forever52 colour corrector palette. Apply a small amount to the affected areas, focusing on the cheeks, nose, and chin. Gently blend it in using tapping motions until the redness becomes adequately neutral. Follow up with foundation or concealer for additional coverage.

c. Brightening sallow skin: If your complexion appears dull or pale, a color corrector with a lavender or lilac undertone can help. Apply a small amount to the areas that need brightening, such as the center of the forehead, the bridge of the nose, and the chin. Blend it before applying foundation or concealer for a more even skin tone.

3. Contour Palette: Contouring involves using darker shades to create shadows and define the natural contours of your face. A contour palette typically contains shades that are cooler and matte. Here's how you can maximize its uses:

a. Sculpting the face: Identify the areas where you want to create the illusion of shadows or depth. These typically include the hollows of your cheeks, the temples, along the hairline, and the sides of your nose. Use a contour brush to apply the darker shade, making sure to blend it well for a seamless result. This technique can help to slim down the face and create more defined cheekbones.

b. Nose contouring: If you desire a more sculpted nose, take a small brush and apply a thin line of the darker contour shade using a contour palette down the sides of your nose.

Consider using your Forever52 colour corrector palette before applying foundation or concealer to neutralize specific skin concerns such as dark circles, redness, or shallowness.
