Parallel parking is method of parking a vehicle parallel to the road in line with other vehicles parked simultaneously. Parallelparking can be very intimidating especially for inexperienced ones as parking a car perfectly requires skill.Parallel parking is a challenging part, in official driving schools students rarely comply the test and very few who clears the road test usually relate to the inability to park parallel. Driving school provides multiple practice attempts making them to learn basic principles and reference points required to park parallel.

1. A suitable place: before parking youneed to find a suitable parking place which should be three feet longer than your vehicle, you must look for a place where your vehicle can easily be parked without hitting other vehicles once you are clean at parallel parking then you would be able to park in tighter spaces.
2. Legal parking space: before parking your car you must ensure that space is free from parking regulations, no- parking signs or there are any time limit spots.
3. Turn on your signals: while backing up check your rear view mirror that no one is behind you, turn on your signals to pullup and park your vehicle.There must be two feetdistance if your car is in mid of two cars.
4. Take help: if the space is tight or your Parallel Parking experience is not much then consider seeking help who can guide you to park on the spot. If you are having passenger ask them for help if you are alone adjust your side mirror down so you cansee the curb.
5. Open door carefully: once you have parked your car open the door carefully while getting out of the car especially when parked on the road as cyclists or bikers approaching from back may cause some serious accidents so it’s better to avoid chaos.
SOME GENERAL GUIDELINES TO MAKE PARALLEL PARKING EASIER AND SAFER
• When you are about to park signal your intention as you approach the opening.
• Stop your vehicle 2 to 3 feet away from the parked vehicle.
• Shift into reverse at this point so as to immediately warn drivers approaching from the rear of your intentions to back into parking space also keep checking the traffic approaching from the rear before starting to back as your front end will swing out into adjacent lane.
• when clear back slowly while turning the steering wheel quickly all the way right and continue back until the upright portion of your front seat is in line
• Continue back slowly as you quickly turn the wheel back to center until your front bumper is inline.
• Continue back slowly as you can turn the wheels sharply left as your vehicle nears the car behind and your front end swings in line with the curb stop and shift into drive.
