Path of Exile: the Diablo-style free-to-play RPG action is about to receive the "Delve" expansion

Path of Exile is a free-to-play role-playing game that takes its inspiration from the classic Diablo games. Set in the Gothic world of Wraeclast, players have access to hundreds of combinations of spells and abilities.

As reported by Windows Central, lacking any form of pay-to-win mechanics, Path of Exile is funded largely through cosmetic microtransactions and has regularly received free content. The next expansion, "Delve", is among the largest so far.

Delve is set in the Azure Mine, an infinite dungeon with a level of difficulty that gradually becomes more and more challenging. You will need a mineral called Voltaxic Sulphite to be able to penetrate the underground without dying.

Thanks to this resource, players will be able to use the Crawler, a self-propelled machine that generates light. The Azurite Mine is in fact pervaded by a darkness that can kill our character.

In the update, our goal is to go deeper and deeper into the mine, in order to discover the secrets that it hides, to find loot of great value and POE Currency to get the Azerite, an important resource useful for enhancing the equipment.

To explore the mine without dying, it will be possible to use luminous flares or launch sticks of dynamite to destroy walls and find other roads.

Delve will guarantee new weapons, armor, relics and crafting items, as well as new bosses and enemies. But not only that, the expansion will introduce new Cheap POE Currency skills focused around two archetypes, the Guardian and the Pathfinder.

Delve was defined by producer Chris Wilson as "the first infinite dungeon of Path of Exile".

Delve will be available for free on August 31st on PC, while the Xbox One version will arrive on September 3rd.
