Pokemon Go: Mega Houndoom Has Finally Arrived

According to most of the trainers, the ongoing September month is one of the most memorable months for them. The rewards, challenges, Pokemon, and events made September month amazing. Mega Evolution and the Porygon Community Day are the two most epic things of this month. To give the best playing experience, Niantic made every effort for the players. Currently, the most entertaining thing in the game is Raid battles. After Articuno Raid, Zapdos is available to catch, but more than this Niantic has introduced a powerful Mega Dark/Fire-type Pokemon.

Niantic finally announced the arrival of Mega Houndoom in Pokemon Go, and players are extremely excited about it. This Dark/Fire-type Pokemon is Powerhouse, and its Mega form will increase the winning chances. It is the first Mega Dark/Fire-type Pokemon to debut in the game. However, it is not available in the Raid Battles right now. Mega Houndoom will arrive on Raid Battles on September 29 at 1 PM Pacific.

There are plenty of Pokemon that support Mega Evolution. However, every Mega Pokemon is not available at the moment. Niantic releasing the Mega Evolution forms one by one. At the beginning week, they introduced the four Mega Evolution forms of three Pokemon. Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard’s Mega Evolution forms were first introduced. Currently, Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y both are part of Mega Raid Battles. Last week, Niantic launched Mega Pidgeot, which is a Normal/Flying-type Pokemon.
New Mega Houndoom is arriving because last week Niantic challenged the trainers during the Mega Battle Challenge to complete a minimum of 275 million Raid Battles in a week. Trainers completed the challenge, and now they’ll be able to unlock Mega Houndoom in the future. Niantic also praised all the trainers who took part in the challenge and contributed their effort to reach the final goal.

Houndoom is the second Pokemon that unlocked through the challenge after Pidgeot. So currently 5 Mega Pokemon are appearing in Mega Raid Battles, but after September 29, the number will be 6. If trainers are lucky, they can also encounter the shiny form of Houndoom, and that can be evolved in Mega Houndoom as well. The chances of appearing the shiny forms are slightly lower than the original one. However, trainers can increase it by playing multiple Raid Battles to encounter a shiny form of Houndoom. You can prepare yourself before Mega Houndoom arrives at Mega Raid Battles. Houndoom is weak against Rock, Fighting, Ground, and Water-type moves. You can power up your necessary Pokemon to win over Mega Houndoom. So here is the list of Pokemon to use at Mega Raid.

Counter Pokemon for Mega Houndoom

Machamp

Machamp is a powerful Fighting-type Pokemon with some incredible moves. Using Machamp against a Dark/Fire-type Pokemon can help you a lot. Use the Counter as a Fast move and Dynamic Punch as Charge move to deal with extreme damage. Dynamic Punch takes less time of charge, using it in battle can help you a lot.

Tyranitar

Tyranitar is a powerhouse even without being a Legendary Pokemon. It’s a Rock/Dark-type Pokemon. Using Dark moves against a Dark-type Pokemon does not affect a lot. But Tyranitar also possesses Rock-type moves that can lead you to victory in the Raid Battle. Use Smack Down as a Fast move and Stone Edge as Charge move to deal extreme damage on Mega Houndoom.

Mega Blastoise

After the Mega Evolution update, trainers are allowed to use Mega Pokemon in Raid Battles. Mega Houndoom is weak against Water-type Pokemon, so in this condition, you can evolve your Blastoise in Mega form to deal extreme damage. Use Water Gun as a Fast move and Hydro Cannon as a Charge move to win the battle quickly.

Swampert

Swampert is a popular Pokemon because of its Water/Ground-type abilities. It’s a dual-type Pokemon which is why it can use both Ground and Water-type moves. Swampert is beneficial for the trainers because it’s Mud Shot as a Fast move and Hydro Cannon as Charge move deal massive damage on Mega Houndoom.

Rhyperior

Rhyperior is the third form of Rhyhorn and powerful. Rhyperior is a Ground/Rock-type Pokemon. By looking at its design and moves, you can easily imagine how beneficial it can be in the battle. Use Mud Slap as a Fast move and Rock Wrecker as a Charge move to finish the Raid Battle quickly.

Conclusion

Pokemon Go has launched some incredible events in the past, but they are nowhere stopping now. The current Raid Battles and upcoming Mega Pokemon are going to hype the game. Before the arrival of Mega Houndoom, players should prepare themselves.
