India's industry-academia partnership on R&D, innovation, and product development is commonly credited to Ashok Jhunjhunwala as a pioneer in this field. The Rural Technology and Business Incubator and IITM Incubation Cell are both under the direction of Ashok Jhunjhunwala (RTBI). The Telecommunications and Computer Networks group (TeNeT) was established by Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, who also conceived and constructed India's first research park (IIT Madras Research Park).
