It has very dry gameplay feeling. This game is pretty and provides a decent distraction for a couple hours, but the trading economy and other strategic elements are too shallow to provide much meat. Even at max difficulty settings I breezed through every challenge the game tried to offer me.. If you've ever played Patrician or Port Royale this game is a prettier, shallower version. The same kind of game play problems that you find in those games you'll find in this one as well. Avoid.. This was a good improvement over the Port Royal games and Patrician series. smooth running and intuative trading system. I didn't like that the DLC wasn't available for the campaign, only in a free play. If you like trading games this is worth a buy.. I'm a gamer whou should be the ideal target marget for this type of game. My many hours of 'gameplay' have been spent simply trying to get the game to function as intended by the developers. Sadly for me the game sound stutters terribly, so the game is unbearable to play. This is despite the fact I'm able to play all my other games without similar issue, so the hardware should not be at fault here. This is a common cause of ffrustration for many players, and often put down to players having certain Nvidia graphics cards that are seemingly not compatible with this game (though indeed some owners of this brand can play the game OK apparently). However, there's enough people posting similar issues to understand this is a fundamental problem for some players. No fix has ever been forthcoming since the game release. Avoid at all costs unless you want the risk of similar frustration. If it's ever fixed for me, and I doubt it will be, I'll update the review to assess the game as it was intended to be played.. I immediately died after leaving the starting port; I immediately uninstalled the game for good.. I have to say, that I meanwhile really like the game. At fist I was a bit disappointed, because it lacks the depth and micromanagement options of "Hanse". But other then that, it is really a lot of fun to play the campaign.. This is notihng like what i thought it was going to be i thought it would be like Port Royal 3 with better Ship battles which it does have better ship battles but it is nothing like Port Royal 3 with its trading system.. one woord this game is a huge "P-i-z-d-a-l-i-p-s-o"
