Welcome to the SCP-087 VR Survivor.

This is a small indie survival rogue-like horror game based on the SCP foundation lore. My name is AlexTheCreator and I am the author of this game. I'm gonna quickly explain o you quickly what this is game about.

The original SCP-087 story is based on an infinite stairwell. If you are SCP-fan like me, you might remember the first SCP-087 game which was just basically a walking simulator. It was unique when it first released, however it isn't that much now. Nowadays you can't just enjoy a game where you walk down some stairs while getting scared by simplest jumpscares. Even in VR... Trust me, I made the first version of this game just like I've described above. Nothing special, very simple and not entertaining at all. So I havedecided to turn the tables!

SCP-087 can have a huge effect on the subject's mind... So now you are one of the SCP Scientists which, for unknown reasons, had gotten inside SCP-087. You start off by regaining consciousness and see different corridors in front of you. The setting is like a basement. You recall that something similar was written in one of the classified documents on SCP-087, and you understand that there is no other solution for you than begin looking for a way out. SCP-087 is afraid of light and noise, that's why you'll have to collect all the objects that can make noise, help craft torches, repair lamps and prevent SCP-087-01 from getting you. Your goal is to survive in a procedurally generated world filled with danger and loneliness.

I decided to publush "stairwell" version too, if you pusrchase the game, second one located in same directory. To launch the "stairwell" version you need to find SCP-087 VR Survivor in your steam library, press Right Mouse Button on it and select "Play SCP-087 original lore VR". Enjoy! :)

What is SCP-Foundation?

If left uncontained, the objects would pose a direct threat to human life and to humanity's perceptions of reality and normalcy

What is SCP-087?

SCP-087 is a staircase that appears to descend downwards forever. The staircase is inhabited by SCP-087-01, which is described as a face without a mouth, pupils or nostrils. 7ad7b8b382

i was looking forward to this game for quite some time. i find it sad that i have to give it a critical review for the time being. i had only played the game for a few moments before i realized that the movement and navagation system is broken. in order to look around the environment you must completely move your body, which for a VR game can be expected, however when you do so, the movement controls do not reorient themselves to the player's new perspective, rather staying static. this (bug?) makes locomotion very confusing and disorienting to the player. interacting with the enviornment is also rather difficult due to the lack of hand avatars. it is nearly impossible to see where my hands are positioned in order to grab key objects and interact with the enviornment. i have refunded the game for now, but i truly want this game to succeed as i am a huge fan of the SCP series and i believe that the concept of exploring SCP 087 in realtime VR is going to make a tremendous experience. this game is in a stage of critical early alpha at best. I truly look forward to seeing where the developer takes this product, as the idea is brilliant, it just needs a bit more work.. I'm making this Review for Suggestion and my Thoughts to this Game so Far.
Suggestions: A Better Crafting System because the "right now one" ain't that great.
Thoughts: Who would release a Game that only has the Tutorial Implemented? But it seems Promising.. So far this game is amazing

When the next big update comes out the game will be 100% better

If you dont already I would suggest joining the games discord the creator will answer any question you have and is great to talk to.. Will re-download once I see the full version up. I am excited and hope to see SCP done well in VR!. Being a huge fan of the SCP foundation I was thrilled to see a VR game about the one SCP that truly terrifies me and makes me scared of stairs. For being a early access game and being quite short, I\u2019d say it was definitely worth the $15. There is definitely room for improvement and I can see this game being a hit in the SCP community in the future. My only complaint is how you pick things up, using the grip buttons is a little uncomfortable, especially for the items that you have to hold down the button to keep it on your hand. All in all, this is a great game and i 100% recommended it to anyone looking for a good scare. Awesome idea; I love it! VR Surviving is interesting and intriguing. Can\u2019t wait when the game will be finished. Bought it to support Alex.

I'm in love with the concept of an VR SCP game, and this game is exactly what I was hoping for. Sure, it doesn't really have a lot to offer for now, but I have high hopes for the future, and even the current version as well as the staircase is pretty enjoyable.
The damn atmosphere paired with, well, SCP 087, is just absolutely terrifying.

Money well spent, I'd say.

As I am in close contact with the dev (a really cool guy), I'm really looking forward to the updates that will come soon.

Until then, I'll go and have another heart attack in the stairwell mode.. So far this game is amazing
