On their way to a "spa island", the Vikings are provocated by Brendall, haughty viking in his awesome boat. Arriving on the island, Halvar wants to fight but Brendall suggests a real competition between the two boats. While visiting the spa island, they discover the funny sparkling water which gives Vic an idea during the competition: using barrels full of sparkling water under the boat, Vic propels the drakkar. The Vikings win making Brendall feels ashamed...
Halvar is furious when his ship is passed at superior speed by a bigger, smart-looking boat, whose rich owner Brendall taunts them. Flake's crew is utterly incapable of giving chase, but finds the ship in their next port of call, the "spa island". Braggard exchanges end up in Halvar betting against three barrels of gold his beloved 'invincible' ship in a speed race. That looks hopeless, but Vic devices a secret weapon using the island's specialty, sparkling mineral water. Brendall gets wind of some surprise and takes nocturnal sabotage precautions, making the challenge even greater then even Vic anticipated.
