Four years ago, the Count and husband of the Countess Anusia Morova died, leaving her practically with nothing except for a pointless title, large debts and expensive tastes. Nowadays, the Countess poses as a charitable lady, and being beyond any suspicion, she leads a ring of unstoppable jewel thieves who rob the houses of her careless rich guests while she entertains them at her parties. Obviously, the Saint is on to Countess Morova, but after a series of baffling robberies, he will need to come up with a cunning plan for a robbery, but with flair.
Countess Audrey is not only a glittering socialite but a ruthless jewel thief whose chauffeur robs the homes of her wealthy associates whilst she entertains them in her Mayfair house. Her master plan is to organize a cruise for several rich couples, whom she will drug and rob whilst they are at sea. She has recruited a new gang member for this plan. Unfortunately for her he is the Saint.
"The Lawless Lady" provides much amusement and boasts of some great on-screen chemistry between leading man Roger Moore and beautiful guest star Dawn Addams. This is the second of three guest shots she made on "The Saint" and it's obvious why the producers kept asking her to return.

Here she plays a moneyless Duchess who heads a clandestine ring of jewel thieves. While she entertains the British upper crust, she sends her minions out to rob the homes of those with whom she's partying. Of course, she's attracted to Templar, and enlists him into joining her crew against the wishes of her foremost accomplice who's concealing a jealous streak.

The proceedings are a lot of fun, and Moore is at his charmingly romantic best. The supporting cast is rounded out by a bunch of experts, especially Julian Glover as Moore's rival. But it's not all lightness, and the plot does touch on the seriousness of the crimes and the effect on the innocent.
