What can a manager of a luxury apartment do when he finds that the richest occupant, who turns to be an investment fraud, has taken the pension fund of the apartment's employees? Josh Kovaks, the manager, has nothing in hand but to go for the cash safety net of Arthur Shaw, the investment fraud. He forms a team with Slide, a crook; Odessa, Charlie and Enrique, his colleagues; and Fitzhugh, an evicted building resident. It's a challenge for them to keep away agent Claire's team away from the scene. The heist is planned on Thanksgiving to keep away distractions. The only challenge now for Josh and his team is the heist itself.
When a group of hard-working guys find out they've fallen victim to their wealthy employer's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence.
I have to admit i expect less for this movie , but i am glad i was wrong because no matter it looks very similar as the ocean eleven/twelve movies this one get your attention and you don't know what would happen later. Also very smart writing and you can feel the good connection with the cast , Eddie Morphy brings a plus in this movie , you think the movie without him will be empty. A story well written and good actors is how i can describe this movie you will feel the time goes fast , i give 7/10 because at the beginning is a little confusing but later the action comes

definitely this is a good Saturday movie and you will get a good feeling afterwords. MASH was always one of my favorite shows and I never thought I would want to boo Alan Alda. However, this is the only film I've seen him do where he plays a perfectly despicable character, a rich sleaze ball who swindles his trusting employees and almost drives an old man to suicide. Ben Stiller had a disaster last Christmas with Little Fockers, however he is back on top in this one playing what he does best, a good hearted everyman that you root for, even if he is planning a robbery. This is the best heist thriller I've seen since The Anderson Tapes and its even better because you root for these modern day Robin Hoods, well except for the character that Eddie Murphy plays, he's just a double crossing hood. Someone said Murphy is back in his classic form in this role but he was the one thing about the movie I didn't like, his character is almost as big a crud as Aldas. SPOILER ALERTS, the ending of the movie is a real nail biter as the heist takes place and Murphy's law comes into play. If you have a fear of heights I recommend not watching this film. I knew that safe was going to be empty and that getaway van was only a decoy. Also, the idea of the golden car is borrowed from the James Bond classic Goldfinger. However, these are minor quibbles for a very entertaining escapist film. Tea Leoni really shines as a ballsy FBI agent. She is actually one of the few "heroic" federal officers you will see in a movie.
Defiantly graceless, Brett Ratner deals in loudness, haplessness, obviousness, and, certainly, crudeness, reminding you of his directorial presence with such inclusions as a scolded kid who tells his disciplinarian to "suck it."

As more investors become involved, the likelihood of the scheme coming to the attention of authorities increases. The scheme is named after Charles Ponzi who became notorious for using the technique in 1920. Ponzi did not invent the scheme (for example, Charles Dickens's 1857 novel Little Dorrit described such a scheme) but his operation took in so much money that it was the first to become known throughout the United States. Ponzi's original scheme was based on the arbitrage of international reply coupons for postage stamps; however, he soon diverted investors' money to make payments to earlier investors and himself.
