The late born of Generation Y (1990 – 1995) and the Early born of Generation Z (1996-1999) are the adults of today, some are just stepping into the early adulthood and others have been here for a while. However, there is something fundamentally different about us than the usual adults we see around us.

Our generation is new, we have different mindsets and a different drive than most adults that were born before us. Our generation was the one that lived with the change of society and rise of electronics, from introduction of cable TVs to online services in Pakistan, we are a generation that understand the change in this world and adapt to it faster.

The thing that make us 90s kids in Pakistan stand out the most in our adult years is that we are not extremely dependent on electronics, we’ve done things differently. However, we are also not senile to the changes going on around us, we adapt and learn and thrive. We were there when mobile phones were not a thing, we were there when they became popular.

We lived through the era of landlines, wireless phones, mobile phones (3310 Nokia, the real OGs know), Flip phones, semi touch screen (My first phone, Nokia C3-01), Full touch screens to phones now you can shout at, to text your mom and to remind you of her birthday 5 days early, so you can buy a gift that is better than other siblings.

We are the generation of Apps and websites, we are not young enough to always find gossip channels and apps fun, but also not old enough to enjoy the business journals. We like to use the things that older people think are bad influence and younger people use as a bad influence for better. We are the people that hustle online, we use Online services in Pakistan bus also it’s our own decade born that provide the services.

Our of all the social media Apps today, we are the EE Stone of this world. A social media that is used for both fun and to make business connections, this is because we are known for our involvement with the internet but we are not limited by it, we use what others find bothersome, to make connections.

While the teens focus of making TikToks and the elders laugh at those TikToks, we make connections and grow. We thrive to make a difference; we thrive to create a better life for ourselves. With the restricting Pakistani Social constructs, we try to make our own freedom.

We are 90s kids; we had the best Music growing up, we had Linkin Park, we had Atif Aslam, We had Classic Rock and We were rebellious for our dreams and dared to defy. We are Young adults that use online services in Pakistan and we are the people that made these services into a business because we have grown up is the best and worst economic times for Pakistan and we want to make something of ourselves.

Failure scares us, becoming our parents terrifies us, but seeing today’s children makes us not want to have any of our own.
