What to Look For in a Water Filter System

Water filter system can be used to eliminate contaminants in your drinking water. Many people do not like the taste of tap water and it is due to these contaminants.

If you have a lot of people in your family or drink large quantities of water then using a filter pitcher may not be the best option. For large water uses you want to think about an under sink system or faucet mount filter. You also may want to choose a well known filter system because the filters will be very easy to come by. You also want to look into the long term costs of a water filter as something that is more expensive initially may actually be less expensive in the long term. With a faucet filter you can have unlimited filtered water which tastes great and filters out many more contaminants than other filters. This model is also very easy to install though some users have reported leaks. Some of the downfalls include the fact that the filtering rate is slow and the filters can clog fairly quickly.

While the many of the filters found in pitcher sand faucets are the same though most user do not like the styles of faucet filters and the leaks can be a problem. With faucets you can switch using the filter on and off as it is not necessary to filter cooking water since you are heating it up anyways.

The Culligan US-EX-4 is a great under sink filter. This filter system is very easy to install and is very effective at filtering out contaminants. Most under sink filter systems need to be installed by a plumber but this one does not. You do not have to change the filter as frequently as faucet filters or pitchers though the plastic parts on the system can break.
