Arthritis means joint inflammation. There are 100 types of arthritis. The types are divided based on the way they affect the body. But, the most common types of arthritis are listed below:

Parts that get affected by this type of arthritis are knees, hips, feet and spine (especially parts that bear weight).

Rheumatoid Arthritis: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease. It affects the immune system of the body, especially the joints. It can cause severe damage to the joint if left untreated. People with rheumatoid arthritis get lumps on their skin called rheumatoid nodules.

Lupus: It is another auto-immune disease like rheumatoid arthritis. Usually occurs in women of childbearing age.

Parts affected by lupus are joints, and whole organs of the body.
