Xiaomi Intending to Launch the Latest 200W ‘HyperCharge’ Technology

Xiaomi is going to launch a new 200W wired charging technology by which phones can get charged only in 8 minutes. This way, it has set a new world record in smartphone charging speed.

Some incredible innovations have been introduced in the phone charging speed over the previous few years. Previously, 10W or 18W charging was estimated to be the fastest. Today, though, we have smartphones like the iQOO 7 and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra that can charge at the fastest speed of 120W.

However, you might think that the smartphones’ charging speed has reached its maximum, but that doesn’t look so. Today, Xiaomi has brought the war of smartphone charging speed to another. Xiaomi showcased HyperCharge tech with 120W wireless and 200W wired charging solutions in a compact design of the Mi 11 Pro.

Xiaomi 200W HyperCharge Technology Unveiled
In the latest post on Twitter, Xiaomi has demonstrated the latest charging technology called HyperCharge. It gives 120W wireless charging and a 200W wired charging solution. Xiaomi has showcased the latest technology with a custom design of the new Mi 11 Pro smartphone.

The 200W wired charging can charge the 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100% just in 8 minutes. This is creating a new world record in smartphone charging speed. The 120W wireless charging makes another world record, too, by charging up the Mi 11 Pro from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes.

Charging a phone from 0-100% in just 8 minutes will be very favorable for users. Though, it could have some discrepant effects on the battery. Xiaomi didn’t say anything about its planning to secure the battery health while charging the smartphone at such an extreme voltage.

Also, the Chinese smartphone manufacturers haven’t unveiled anything about HyperCharge technology. If it would really be used in any of its smartphones? However, Xiaomi intends to introduce this technology to its forthcoming smartphones. It will need more time to do so. Xiaomi needs to resolve several problems that may induce with high wattage charging.

Faster smartphone chargers are known to decrease battery life. So, though, 200W charging speed attracts, it would be exciting to watch how Xiaomi manages to maintain the smartphones’ battery life. No official words from Xiaomi about this technology yet.

What Does the Demonstration Include?
As shown in the teaser on Twitter, Xiaomi’s latest HyperCharge technology took merely 3 minutes to fill the upgraded Mi 11 Pro from 0 to 50%. Along with the 200W wired charging system, Xiaomi has showcased a new 120W wireless charging system as well. Xiaomi boasts its new wireless charging technology that can fill up a phone up to 100% in just 15 minutes.

However, Xiaomi hasn’t yet given any idea about when the first phone with this technology will hit the market. Presently, the fastest charging smartphone is the previously launched Mi 10 Ultra. Mi 10 Ultra supports 120W wired charging speeds.

We are waiting to see how the Mi 11 Ultra is an upgrade over the Mi 10 Ultra in the fast-charging solution. However, it will take some time before we watch a Xiaomi flagship with a 200W charging solution. And, notably, such high charging speeds could degrade the battery life and lead to overheating problems. Xiaomi isn’t going to release a new smartphone with 120W fast charging technology this year. However, its Black Shark brand launched the two latest models with 120W charging in March to beat the best gaming devices. Vivo’s iQOO also released a Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone earlier this year which supports 120W fast charging speeds.
