It is an amazingly common mistake for students to confuse the two. The verity is the work you put in. Learning also takes a lot longer. Simply reading chapter after chapter of a textbook will not teach you the subject, mainly the night before the exam. Learning means you have to have a set of exact learning points. These might be:
To learn a formula, list of names, dates etc (what, maybe who)
To know a bond or basis (why)
To be able to do something such as write correct grammar or work out in thermodynamics (how)
These are called learning objectives. Some of the best textbooks, in fact, state them at the start of chapters in a little outline.
To study, you will have to read, re-read, maybe make notes, plans (good) or part exact manipulations until you have got an idea. It might take you half an hour to master a few lines of a hard concept. You might have to look in other books or online to get details of a word or perhaps a choice report of the same thing.
In order to retain what you have learned, you must also review to refresh your memory and kind. A general rule is after: 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week then at least every month. Reading is a passive activity. You take in some of the data cheap essay writing service, but you are not concerned about what you leave on the table. You are generally doing it for enjoyment, or perhaps business, but you are not really doing it with an end goal such as a test, guarantee, etc. in mind.
Learning is more active and usually implies some end goal in mind - whether it's mastering a language, a picky size of facts, or common data. Studying is more active, as a common rule. Tools such as highlighter or close notes may be related or taking notes in some manner.
