Things you should do after finding a hacked Facebook account

First of all, you should report the hack to Facebook to improve its security. Here are the steps you need to take to report the hack.

1. You have to open the Report Compromised Account page from Facebook.

2. And click on My Account Is Compromised link.

3. Now, you need to enter your username or phone number and type in your current password.

4. Now, you need to select a reason why you think your account is compromised and then click on the Continue button.

If the hacker hasn’t changed you, you are lucky and you should immediately take a few steps. After reporting a compromise, Facebook will suggest you change your password immediately.

To change your Facebook account password, you should follow these steps:

1. Go to the Security and login section from the settings which you can access through the gear icon.

2. And then you need to scroll down to login and then click on the Change Password link.

3. And then, you have to enter your current password and new password. Make a strong new password for your account to tightly secure your account.

3. Then, you have to click on the’ Save Changes’ button.

After changing the password for your account, log out from all other devices. Log out of those devices completely to update the security of your account. You may have to reset your account password if you aren’t able to login after the hack. Resetting the password on Facebook is very easy, you have to click on the ‘Forgot your password?’ link from the login section.
