I've never experienced this phone before and I've had it for about 4 months. It just did an update last week, and I installed a new app and some new app updates since then. It would be helpful to understand exactly what causes this problem!

I purchased Galaxy S7 last year from best buy, this was my second purchase of Samsung Galaxy cellphone. This is been a bad experience. I am not happy with this product, the back of the cell phone gets hot off and on. Since yesterday the volume control button has started to get stuck and not functioning well. I hope you can help me with this. I am at the verge of stop buying Samsung products in future.

I'm experiencing the same issue now. Had phone plugged in, while it was at 30%. Heard a buzz, phone shut down. It then displayed the charging icon. After about 12 attempts to turn the phone back on, first I'd see the Samsung splash screen, then blank. I finally got it to turn on completely, but it's now at 26% and no increase in battery charge. Earlier today it downloaded a samsung update and I was actually at a graduation so I ignored the notification, but I saw a notification regarding the secured folder and something about not being able to install to a secured folder. which I didn't initiate, so I'm not sure what it was trying to do. When I checked it again, it was downloading a samsung update for a "Samsung Internet Browser". Really disappointing because I haven't had any issues with the phone until today.
I went to wake-up my phone to check my calendar. It wouldn't turn on. Finding the tips here, I pressed and held the power and volume down buttons simultanesously for about 30 - 45 seconds. That brought up a menu of 4 choices, including Start in Normal Mode, Start in Safe Mode. You have to navigate to your selection using the volume down key again, and then press the Bixby button (below the Volume key) to choose it. I chose Normal Mode and my phone started back up.

I experienced the same problem, I tried to charge it for 10min (to make sure power supply is not dead) and Hard pressed power button + volume down button for 15sec, it restarted.

Insert the eject pin into the hole at the BOTTOM of the handset. I have no idea what it is but that is what worked for me.
Thats the microphone.
