IS YOUR WEBSITE TELLING YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS OR READERS THE RIGHT STORY?

It takes less than two-tenths of a second for a visitor on your website to make up their minds about you and your business or blog. That’s a very short time, and as an internet marketer, you have to think of all the things that you can do to make your site one which people will visit and one where your visitors will actually stay, not bounce straight away. This means that your website design, layout, and the content within your website is key. As an Internet Marketer or webmaster, you have to know how to manipulate all of these crucial elements if you are going to create a website that is effective and converts visitors. So what are the key elements and what should you be doing with them? Here is some list from our SEO Specialist Adelaide have to mention.

1. NAVIGATION
How easy is it to navigate your website? How quickly can someone find what they are looking for and how quickly can they move from one page to another? Are they able to open links in new pages? All of these factors come into play when you talk about website navigation. Your website should be open and it should be easy to find both information or content regarding your products and services. If visitors see that you have laid everything clearly, they are more confident to explore what you have to offer and if they are difficult to find, it is more than likely that your visitors will leave and go to a competitor or another blog to get the information they need.

2. CALL TO ACTIONS
This is the image on a page that catches visitors' attention. A CTA (Call to Action) image should be attention-grabbing and explain to your visitor what it is that they need to do. It should be clean, easy on the eye, and the focus of the page. You can make it big although there are no rules about this. In fact, nothing says that it has to be an image. All you want to do id get the attention of the visitor so that you can guide them where you want them to go.

3. CONTENT
Whether you are talking copy, videos, or audios, visitors stay with you for one primary reason and the content on your web pages is interesting and provides them with the kind of information that they are looking for. This means that for you to keep people on your website you have to be very careful about how you create your content. It could be a run of the mill subject, but you have to craft it in such a way that people feel attracted to it and engaged in it. It must also be current as people want fresh information. Lastly, it must teach people something. The more people learn, the more you earn as a webmaster or Internet Marketer.

4. SHARE
Social media is the”in-thing” at the moment and for you to have any online success today, social media has to be a part of your strategy. Your website should, at the very minimum, have a Facebook button, a Twitter button, and a LinkedIn button. The ideal is to have as many of them as possible so that all your bases are covered and anyone who thinks your port or web page is interesting can share it. Just by getting someone to recommend your website on their Facebook page helps you to get far more exposure than what you’d get without having share buttons on your site.

5. BE CREATIVE
The human mind notices things that are out of the ordinary, things that don’t look the way the expected them to look. This means that when it comes to web design and aesthetics, you must be creative enough to capture attention and even to get people curious so that they can explore your site further. If you are not very creative, hire someone to present you with 3 or 4 options that you can evaluate and then choose the most creative one of the lot. That said, be careful not to assault the senses. Keep it unusual but not that unusual as to cause negative reactions.

6. KEEP IT LIGHT
Images are necessary for web design, but you have to be careful not to use such large images as it may cause your site to slow down and if people have to wait for your pages to load, they’ll leave, simple! Remember you have less than two-tenths of a second so you want your website to open as fast as possible. If you have to use big images (try and avoid this as much as possible), find out how you can compress them to a reasonable size that does not slow down your website.

7. STAY AWAY FROM POP-UPS
You want all the attention you can get from a visitor so distracting them with pop-ups only works against you. Instead, layout your information in a simple to read and professional manner so that as soon as the site opens, they can see exactly what you want them to see.

These are the key elements of Web Design and if you pay attention to them, you will have a website that keeps visitors long enough for you to get a chance to convert them into buyers or loyal subscribers and readers.
