What comes to your mind if you hear "food bags"? Is it a plastic cover with a zip lock made for sandwiches? Or is it a printed lunch box with food and juice for your school-going kid? Either way, both are really gym food bag.

However, there is a general belief that food bags are limited to plastic rolls used solely in the kitchen. But curiously enough, there are different types of food bags that, basically, handle food items to hold their own.

You might not have heard of these yet, but I really find it interesting that food bags also have their specialties:

Let me start with the ones we see in grocery stores that handle a variety of foods, whether raw, dried, frozen, chunks, or in small pieces. These are called food packaging bags. These are sealed securely, sometimes with a handy lock, and ensure that no air gets inside to ensure the freshness of the food.

For home-baked cookies, chocolates and candies, I'm sure you're conscious of cellophane food bags. These are widely used to carry food items as gifts where you will tie a pleasant ribbon on the top. Cellophane food bags are available in clear colors and a variety of sizes. They can even be used as garbage bags after munching on the goods inside.

Another cool food bag is the one used for delivery. Typically made from fabric material on the outside and tough plastic on the inside with a zipper to lock, delivery food bags are specially made to keep your ordered pizza fresh right to the door.

When you're on a trip and really want to take care of the heat or coolness of your packaged foods, you'll need hot and cold food bags. These are made of special material and secure zips that help in maintaining the current temperature of your food items.

Another type is that of the fridge roll bag. These are clear, polyethylene plastic bags that are easy to dispense, come in many sizes, and with a special seal to prevent leaks and breakage when stored within the freezer. These are widely used for keeping foods that need to be kept within the fridge such as fruits, vegetables, and meats.

And finally, there are also food preservation bags. These are specially made to preserve foods that are not usually stored in the fridge. Typically, these bags are made of fabric, are tall, have the widest gap, and have a zip at the rock bottom for direct access to the food items inside. Onions, garlic, potatoes, cheese, and mushrooms are well preserved in these food bags.
