Can India stop a third Covid wave with the delta plus variant?

After a second wave of Covid-19 infections ravaged the country in April and May, India is beginning to reopen. A third wave is expected to hit in the coming months, according to experts.
Authorities in certain states are under fire for not being ready for a third wave, while others are concerned that new variations, like the much-discussed Delta plus, might weaken existing vaccinations.
An existing variation of concern initially found in India last year that caused the fatal second wave, Delta plus is connected to Delta.To what extent is this worry justified? However, the intensity and spread of any subsequent wave will depend on a variety of circumstances.

Recently, the number of daily cases in India has dropped from 400,000 in May to slightly over 50,000. The decline in numbers has been ascribed in large part to stringent lockdowns imposed by the governments.The second wave was attributed to crowding in marketplaces, election rallies, and religious holidays. A number of factors contributed to the problem including bad policy decisions, inadequate surveillance, and disregarding early warnings Experts warn that if the same mistakes are made again, the third wave might be accelerated.
In India, public policy and health systems expert Dr Chandrakant Lahariya thinks people's behavior would decide the outcome of the next wave.Is India's Delta plus a Covid-19 version that should be taken seriously?Are there any new vaccinations in India that we are aware of?States should reopen the economy gradually, according to him. The infection will spread more quickly if we hurry to reopen and individuals don't follow Covid safety measures.Safety procedures, he says, should be enforced at a "localized level"; if individual markets and enterprises don't follow the regulations, they should be penalized for not complying.
