A Plug valve has a cone shaped plug which rotates inside the valve body to control the flow of medium in the valve. These valves are used for full flow systems which are either fully open or fully closed. These valves are generally not designed for regulation of the medium. The main advantage of plug valve is that it can be repaired or cleaned without removing the valve body from the system. Usually, Plug Valves are top entry valves. They are useful in applications where frequent and quick operation is required.
